Delhi metro services to be suspended till 2:30 PM on holi DMRC

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro services will not be available till 2.30 PM on Holi, Monday (March 29), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said in a tweet. 'Holi Update: On Holi (29th March 2021), metro services will not be available till 2:30 PM on all lines of Delhi Metro, including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line,' the body tweeted.

In view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi Metro has intensified its drive to ensure commuters maintain social distancing and wear masks inside trains and on station premises. As per the existing COVID-19 safety protocol, it is mandatory for all passengers to enter station premises after thermal screening, hand sanitisation and with a face mask on.

2566 new covid cases in Karnataka,13 deaths

Karnataka logged 2,566 new COVID-19 cases and 13 related fatalities, taking the caseload to 9.81 lakh and the toll to 12,484, the Health department said on Friday. This is the fourth consecutive day that the state has reported over 2,000 fresh cases. On Thursday, it registered 2,523. Bengaluru Urban continued to top the list of cases, with 1,490 infections The day also saw 1,207 patients getting discharged after recovery. Cumulatively 9,81,044 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which includes 12,484 deaths and 9,48,988 discharges, the Health department said in a bulletin. With Bengaluru continuing to witness a steady surge in new Covid-19 cases, BBMP identified has identified 23 active containment zones in the city as on Thursday.  More than 90 people were killed across Myanmar by security forces on Saturday in one of the bloodiest days of protests since a military coup last month, said news reports quoting witnesses. The lethal crackdown came on Armed Forces Day. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the junta leader, said during a parade in the capital Naypyitaw to mark the event that the military would protect the people and strive for democracy. State television had said on Friday that protesters risked being shot “in the head and back”. Despite this, demonstrators against the February 1 coup came out on the streets of Yangon, Mandalay and other towns.
